The Institute of Food Technologists is a nonprofit scientific society with members working in food science, food technology, and related professions in industry, academia, and government.
Welcome to the Bonneville Section of IFT, based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
We’re glad you could join us and hope you will find everything you are looking for. If you have a question or comment, please take time to email our section Chair Christina Beer. We pride ourselves in responding to any questions quickly. Thanks and enjoy your visit!
Food is our key emphasis, whether it is nutrition, safety, processing, storage, etc. Through a collection of talented scientists, college students, and business owners, we have a well-rounded wealth of knowledge.
Last August, we announced the 2017-2018 Section Membership Challenge to encourage section leaders to recruit and retain members, with the end goal of increasing overall section membership and attendance. We indicated that the top three eligible sections with the highest percentage membership increase and the top three eligible sections with the highest renewal rate as of May 31, 2018 would be recognized and that those sections would receive $500 grants to use towards scholarship programs, speakers, or events.
Based on the May 31 statistics, we would like to congratulate the Kansas City, Bonneville, and Chicago Sections for their outstanding membership growth and the Bluegrass, Nutmeg, and Long Island Sections for their outstanding membership retention!
Thank you to all of the sections that participated in the Section Membership Challenge, and we hope to see even greater participation next year!
